The wait is finally over: “Roll camera!” on the Murinsel! The Summer Movies 2026 return this July, bringing you 25 diverse movie nights featuring Austrian and international cinematic gems from over 100 years of film history—handpicked and curated by the Filmzentrum im Rechbauerkino.

3. Poetry Slam @ Murinsel

THE VIBE? This event is a live outdoor poetry competition (Poetry Slam) designed to bring summer life, romance, and humor to the city. Local and professional poets will take turns on stage, having exactly 5 minutes each to perform their own creative texts, stories, or poems.
4. La Strada Grand Opening” @ Graz Old Town
WHEN? Friday, July 31 – Saturday, August 8, 2026 (The ultimate grand finale of the month and start of a 9-day festival)
TIME? Grand Opening at 7:30 PM at Oper Graz (Check official schedules for street performance times)
WHERE? Oper Graz (Opening Show) & various public squares, streets, and parks
THE VIBE? The entire city transforms into a vibrant, magical open-air stage! International street art, puppet theater, breathtaking contemporary circus, and community arts take over the cobblestone streets. The special motto for 2026 is “take part”, focusing heavily on active audience participation, workshops, and collaborative art projects.
INSIDER TIP: While the grand indoor opening production requires tickets, almost all of the mind-blowing daily performances in public spaces and parks are completely free of charge!
